Juice Fasting At Vivus Retreats

Juice fasting, also known as juice cleansing or juice detox, involves consuming only fresh fruit and vegetable juices while abstaining from solid foods for a specific period. Juice fasting at Vivus Retreats consists of drinking 2 to 5 cups of juice a day and a soup in the evening. Ingredients. generally include carrots, kale, spinach, grapes, berries, watermelon, beets, cucumbers, lemons and ginger.  Soups include mushroom, tomato, basil, and butternut squash.  No fats or added proteins are used for fasting since they are hard on the digestive system. When not drinking juices or soups, retreat guests will be drinking teas and clean alkaline water.  Guests are also  given a multivitamin, probiotic and enzymes to help the digestive system work at its maximum level.
